Here at Curiosity Hacked, we want to know absolutely everything there is to know about the world and us on it. I don’t know about you, but my brain never stops working – it’s always thinking up a new question that needs answering.
My name is Sally-May Schinkel and my curiosity is out of this world. I hope that with my website, I can find like minded people, and help them to learn more about the world around them. I want to curb your curiosity!
I was IQ tested upon entry into high school and I scored 2nd highest out of 100 plus Form 1’s. I was placed into an accelerated class, I did 10 O’levels in Form 4 (16 years old) instead of Form 5 (17 years old). Normally in the schooling system* that I was in you had to write 5 O’levels in Form 5 only (*Zimbabwe which was based on the UK’s Cambridge system).
Some time later, in 2019 I sat the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) and scored very highly for verbal and linguistic skills but not so great on mathematical skills. No surprise there really as I did not do the work to lay the foundation for my math skills in high school!
I was accepted into the University of Queensland and I soon came up against a problem. I had no idea how to learn effectively.
This is how, as a mature mother of three, the “Learning How To Learn” journey started.
What I love about the internet is that there is so much information right at your fingertips – but what if you struggle to absorb all of that valuable knowledge?
With my website I intend to share interesting, insightful knowledge, along with the tools that you will need in order to retain it, and use it to better your own life.
So, come and have a look at my site – and try not to fall down a rabbit hole of information that you can pull out the next time you see your friends. Or do, if you have that kind of time!
There is not much more annoying than having a question go unanswered, so let’s learn together and hack our curiosity!
